«Oenorama 2008. The Greek Wine Event more important than ever before» Oenorama available stands are rapidly being taken by interested participants and about three months before the Oenorama event two thirds of the available space has already been taken. Oenorama 2008, which is to take place between 28-30 March will be more important than ever, since it has moved into the new premises of MEC in Paeania. These premises of16.350 square meters are expected to host more than 250 participants who will present to the 15.000 visitors expected at the fair wines and distillates from both Greece and abroad as well as state-of-the-art equipment relating to the wine sector.All the well known wine-producers of Greece have already registered and will participate. This massive participation shows the potential of the wine sector in Greece. Nevertheless, Oenorama is also clearly export oriented. In close cooperation with the Hellenic Foreign Trade Board, main sponsor of the event, hundreds of buyers and journalists are expected to visit Oenorama 2008. Invitations have already been sent to journalists from China and Russia, two important emerging markets for Greek wine as well as to journalists and buyers from the most mature markets of Western Europe. Many professionals from the American continent are also expected thanks to the promotion of «All about Greek Wine», active on the American continent. The same dynamic trend has been observed in the wine equipment sector because the most important wine equipment companies have already registered to participate in Oenorama 2008. Many visitors from this sector from both Greece and abroad are expected to visit the fair (enologists, technical experts, equipment producers, etc.). As usual, Oenorama has planned a wide range of side events. Particular mention should be made of the conference organized by the National Interprofessional Organization of Vine and Wine (ΕDΟΑΟ), active in the field of wine marketing in Greece. This conference will be held in a special Congress Hall the day before Oenorama is launched (27/03). The attention of the professionals who will visit the fair is expected to concentrate on the Oenorama “Wine-tasting Square”. There, professionals only will have the opportunity to taste the best wines of the fair with a special focus on Greek varieties. Detailed information on each wine will also be available in two languages. Oenorama takes place every other year and has been organized since 1994. It is the main meeting event for the Greek Wine sector and the best showcase for Greek wine worldwide. It is an event meant for professionals, which is visited by wine purchasers (wine store owners, sommeliers, wholesalers, importers, etc.) as well as by enologists, agronomists and wine producers who wish to find equipment for their wine producing activities.
